I moved to Savannah with my partner Mark in 1997. Leaving the cozy confines of Key West we found Savannah and its wildly diverse neighborhoods to be welcoming and intriguing. We were also stunned by the physical beauty of the town ? it still seemed something of a hidden jewel ? just as it does today.
The process of purchasing my first home and all that it entailed quickly made me aware that real estate was "in my blood," and in 1998, I dove in with both feet and have been a player on the local scene ever since. I have been a top producing agent since I began working in real estate in 1998. I was voted "Best Real Estate Agent" by Connect Savannah in 2005, 2008 and 2010 and have been a long-term member of the Distinguished Sales Society. Recent years have brought some of the most exciting professional growth with me becoming a partner in Keller Williams Realty Savannah Downtown and Keller Williams Coastal Area Partners. I have taken on an amazing assistant, Laura Hyatt, who has been invaluable in helping me to grow my business.
In 2008 I received national recognition by being selected as one of "The Ten Most Dependable Real Estate Professionals of the Eastern United States" by Goldline Research. Perhaps the most noteworthy award I have received in my career, it was published in the December 22, 2008 issue of Forbes Magazine.
It is not awards and accolades that continue to propel me in this industry though. It is the personal interactions with people that continue to drive me. I am thrilled every time I have the opportunity to meet someone new or rekindle a friendship through my profession. In my opinion, PEOPLE are the key to a successful real estate transaction. I am interested in helping someone find the perfect home, not just selling them a house.
I also continue to have something of a love affair with the city of Savannah. Everything about this city captivates me. From the oak-shaded mossy squares of Downtown to the funky "bohemian" vibe of the Starland District to the laid back Low Country attitudes of the Islands and everything in between. The city's multi-faceted character continues to engage me and makes me want to know more about the place I already feel I know so well. My home, Savannah!
In his so-called spare time Don is an avid equestrian and has trained a thoroughbred in dressage for more than four years now. His training partner ? always at his side ? is his dog Audrey, an adopted hound dog from Ossabaw Island. Don has traveled with Mark extensively. The two, however, always find it easy to "come home" to Savannah.
I was born and raised outside of Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to Savannah to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design for photography in 2005. Somehow I found my way into real estate. Four years and a college degree later, I'm working in a field I never dreamed of, but absolutely love. Each day is a new adventure, and no two are ever the same.
When I'm not in the real estate world I'm either behind the camera or spending time with friends. I love to photograph landscapes and architecture (after all, that's what I went to school for) and have a real passion for old photographs and equipment. I enjoy cooking for friends and tend to be a little bit of a board game fanatic from time to time.
I began working for Don in 2007 and have grown from part-time assistant to full time administrative assistant, marketing director and transaction coordinator all in one. It's my responsibility to make sure that the wheels keep turning. From the very beginning of a listing all the way through to the closing table, I'm right there providing communication and feedback to you the client. I love details and thrive on a challenge. I've learned a lot over the past couple years and am excited to see where we as a team go from here!
I was born in upstate New York. After graduating in 2002 with a degree in business finance from the University of Wisconsin, I started investing in real estate. That?s when it all started!! Real estate became my main focus and passion. In 2004, I moved to Savannah and began to grow both my business and my knowledge of real estate.
In an effort to fully understand the industry, I experienced as many aspects of the business as I could? From selling mortgages to historic restoration, from property management to laying tile. I not only invested in historic properties of my own, but also worked with other investors to learn as much as I could.
My goal as a buyers specialist is to build a long-standing relationship with every client I have. Not only do I nurture and monitor every aspect of the transaction up until the time the deed is recorded, but I will be there when you need a roofer in 5 years because that tree branch fell through.
By always being available, patient and a good listener, I will far exceed your expectations of a real estate professional. When clients know what to expect at each step along the way, it makes the entire transaction more enjoyable for everyone. That is what I focus on: clear and honest communication.
Testimonial:"Mark did a truly outstanding job as our Buyer's Agent. He was very flexible, knowledgable friendly and professional. He provided excellent service with an emphasis on attention to detail and personal attention. He was also very patient with us as our taste in houses changed almost daily. He provided insight into the benefits and potential negatives of each house and neighborhood we looked at. He is very well informed in the real estate market and even provided a wealth of information about historic homes and financing. Mark's attitude was always positive and upbeat and we really enjoyed working with him. He truly took a lot of the stress out of the home buying process. I wish he was our listing agent back in Virginia!!" -Michael M.
